Catching Up for August

Since Angela and Ethan were with us for a good part of August, their blogsite pretty well covers Susan and my activities for the month, as well as Andrew and Sabrina's site. Here are some entries to fill in the gaps:
There was a neighborhood block party in Harvey the same day as we went to the State Fair. I was there with a Scout booth and Andrew and Austyn came by. It's not a good camera angle, but Austyn got suited up as a Suma fighter. He had fun throwing at the dunk tank and running through the inflatables.

At the State Fair, Susan and I helped staff a booth for the church when we were not at the food booths. It is the first time the church had a booth there and was considered quite successful.

Andrew mentions on his site that he won a grill from a raffle at MBank. He also got a lot of free publicity as his good luck was proclaimed on their electronic sign including his firms name.
Some events that I failed to get pictures:
Susan and I had a pleasant dinner at Perkins with Al and Heather to celebrate Heather's birthday. She had just been promoted to full time status at Econo so she'll be getting more hours and benefits.
I attended a Scout conference in downtown Detroit. In all my years in the Midwest, I had never been to downtown Detroit and was favorably impressed by it. I drove back to Angela and Ethan's for the nights. We enjoyed the Cracker Barrel tradition. Ben is learning words, including DewEY. He seems to always put the emphasis on the second syllable.
Check my Scout blog for some other events.
