I can't find my camera so this is another pictureless posting. I think I left it in Houghton last week.
Susan and I had a nice dinner out for my birthday. We went to the Thai Bistro, a new restaurant in town where Susan's niece Amanda and nephew Marc both work. The food was very tasty and the ambiance was peaceful, quiet, and extraordinary. We enjoyed it very much.
Susan's mom made me an apple pie for my birthday. We had planned to have it Friday after eating out, but delayed it since Amanda served me a free dessert for my birthday, fried bananas with ice cream. That was something I didn't think I would like and would not have ordered, but really liked it. Beth, Rebecca, and James stopped by after we got home. We offered them pie, but only Beth accepted. After they left, I heard something in the kitchen and found that Buddy had taken a bite of the pie that was sitting on the kitchen counter. We salvaged about half of the pie.
Andrew and Sabrina were celebrating their anniversary of starting to date last year and took a fall getaway day to view the colors on Saturday. We had Austyn for the afternoon and early evening until he went to a sleepover at the Childrens' Museum with his Cub Scout pack. In the afternoon, he had a flag football game and made an interception. After the game, we took the dogs for a walk in the woods.
Yes, I said dogs. Andrew and family have a Springer Spaniel, Buster, that is about 10 weeks old. We got to dog sit him in the afternoon and overnight. Buddy was willing to share his space and seemed mostly curious about the little one. They played a bit and were good with each other. Buster is not fully potty trained yet, but had the good sense to pee on the wooden floor rather than the carpet 90% of the time.
Normal church meetings today.
