A Burry Father's Day
We spent Friday night with Harry and Linda, then drove back to the UP on Saturday. As we drove through the lower peninsula, the temperature was in the low 80's. As we approached the Mackinac Bridge the temperature dropped to the upper 60's. We bought some sandwiches and stopped at a look out along Lake Michigan. Driving across the UP, the temperature again approached 80, but when we reached the Lake Superior coast, it dropped to the high 50's. Free air conditioning!
For Father's Day, we wanted to keep it simple with a picnic at Presque Isle Park. The temperature was about 50 degrees- Burry. Burry is a work Susan invented that describes the temperature when you say "burr." It wasn't terribly burry, but it sure was not warm, especially for mid-June. We enjoyed the fellowship- briefly. Headed home as it started to rain. It was a great afternoon for a nap.
